Job Summary
The post-doctoral scholar will focus specifically on the area of transition to post-secondary education and employment for students with disabilities and will, therefore, work closely with Dr. Dawn Rowe and the staff of Access ETSU, an inclusive higher education program at East Tennessee State University. The scholar will also have the opportunity to work with faculty across Clemmer College committed to preparing thoughtful and socially just teachers and leaders who will make a meaningful and sustained impact on students, schools, and local communities.
All postdoctoral fellows are appointed on a short term as outlined in the postdoctoral policy. In compliance with university policy, as regular employees, postdoctoral researchers are eligible for full employee benefits, including health insurance and retirement. The state-supported retirement system includes a portable optional retirement program, suitable for researchers on grant funding.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of effective practices in secondary transition
  • Knowledge of research methods (e.g., experimental, qualitative, quasi-experimental)
  • Experience working independently and with collaborative teams leading research, data analysis, dissemination, etc.
  • Presentation/communication skills
Required Qualifications
  • Earned Doctorate in Special Education, Disability Studies, Higher Education, or a related field, with a focus on transition and/or post-secondary inclusive education for students with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong or emerging record of high-impact research in the area of transition and/ or post-secondary inclusive education
  • Grant experience
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Successful university-level teaching experience
