The Learning & Development Partner is responsible for the analysis and design of content for an all learning, training, and development functions and disciplines at Dayton Children’s Hospital. This role is responsible for iterative, data driven, high quality content strategy through internal collaboration, industry research, and end-user feedback and analysis. The Learning & Development Partner works to accomplish their goals in alignment with Dayton Children’s Hospital roadmap, Dayton Children’s Hospital strategy, Learning & Development team strategy, and Dayton Children’s Hospital and best practices. The Learning & Development Partner shares responsibility for innovative solutions and strategic leadership, drives fresh conversations about creating great experiences for Dayton Children’s Hospital employees and leaders, and brings expertise in instructional design to solve implementation challenges.

The Learning & Development Partner supports Employee Experience (Human Resources) through support of new employee orientation and facilitation. This role will focus on development and delivery of leadership training and team building sessions.

Department Specific Job Details:
PROBLEM ANALYSIS/RESOLUTION
  • Critical thinking skills to assess customer’s needs, and determine the appropriate course of action to meet those needs.
  • Interviews customers to collect information on reported problems or development requests. If troubleshooting an issue, directs customers through diagnostic procedures to determine source of problem.
  • Utilizes problem-solving skills, creativity and innovation.
  • Coordinate with other internal departments to synergize efforts to increase the quality of overall product offered to internal and external end users.
  • Management of escalated issues with internal team and vendors as required.
  • Serves as liaison in resolving content issues.
  • Partner with the business to evaluate existing business processes for opportunities to develop and drive greater efficiencies and enhanced capabilities
Instructional Design
  • Demonstrate content leadership of courses and/or process redesign related to learning experiences
  • Ability to apply learning science and e-learning methodologies to assigned products, courses and disciplines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, persuasion, influence, and focused information sharing.
  • Ability to create a learning design plan that maps to defined market needs, learning objectives, and other quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Measures existing learning experience against quantitative and qualitative metrics to evaluate impact of current content strategy and product pedagogy/design
  • Acts as a self-directed learner to stay up-to-date on digital learning, learning science, and pedagogical trends and methodologies via classroom visits, conferences, conducting research, etc.
  • Participates in the ongoing improvement of learning curriculum design standards, resources, processes, and approaches at Dayton Children’s Hospital
Training / Change Management
  • Facilitate leadership development content and lead team building sessions. Support employee focuses training programs
  • Lead the design and delivery of cohort programs to develop identified high performers.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to Dayton Children's employees as needed
  • Actively support and partner with the employee relations team to identify future content
  • Supports the change management process in support of new organization implementations and business process enhancements
  • Validate testing methodology/plan on projects
  • Facilitate training for learning development initiatives and on system functionality
  • Facilitate new hire Orientation programs and participate in strategic initiative meetings related to new employee learning
  • Support and mentor less tenured facilitators and designers on the team
Project Planning
  • Strong leadership for guiding through successful execution and completion.
  • Capable of effective planning and prioritization.
  • Effective documentation of plans, deliverables and deadlines.
  • Supports business partner while maintaining Dayton Children's Hospital strategic initiatives and best practices.
  • Effective communication & negotiating skills to build trust, and compromise to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with tasks, timelines, resources and budgets
Education Requirements: Bachelors (Required)
