POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a senior leadership position for the California Community Colleges Technology Center (CCCTC) overseeing software development and operations teams. This critical role ensures that the CCCTC secures and maintains educational technologies necessary for the delivery of its services to the CCC Chancellor’s Office and the 73 districts and 116 colleges in the California Community College system.

The CTO provides vision and oversight for remote software development and DevOps team members working on systems built upon Amazon Web Services. Major initiatives include student facing applications, ERP/SIS integrations and interoperability, curriculum management tools, data warehouse, and federated identity. For more information about these programs visit www.ccctechcenter.org.

Ideal candidates will be able to balance emerging technology while addressing technical debt in legacy systems and supporting system-wide improvements with a focus on equity, accessibility, availability, and security. They will be able to guide technical teams and collaborate with higher education constituents to serve the 1.8 million students in the CCC system.

Candidates will have experience advocating, facilitating, and leading change at an enterprise level and be comfortable working with remote/virtual teams in an environment of participatory governance. At the local level, candidates will have a track record of supporting software developers with coaching and guidance, enabling them to build the best products possible while staying aligned with business goals established by product teams and stakeholders.
