EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time

DESCRIPTION: Faculty is responsible for teaching, assessing, and assigning grades, planning and supervising clinical experiences of PN students, and contributing to curriculum revision and ongoing program development and accreditation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and maintain course descriptions and syllabi and assist in curriculum development as needed.
2. Provide quality instruction by following appropriate course outlines and using various innovative teaching techniques to enhance student success in accordance with the stated college and department mission, vision and values.
3. Maintain student records, gradebooks, attendance, etc., using the Learning Management System (LMS); acquaint students with course and program requirements and provide periodic and summative evaluation of class and clinical experiences. Alerts program director of excessive student absences or issues related to program progression.
4. Coordinate and supervise clinical experiences to meet course outcomes:
a) Make student assignments
b) Maintain attendance records
c) Evaluate written assignments
d) Supervise and evaluate students in clinical practice
e) Document formative and summative evaluation; conduct conference with each student
f) Design and conduct clinical post-conference
g) Supervise part-time clinical instructors with student assignments
5. Provide student guidance or advising as appropriate; maintain office hours; provide referrals for academic or personal issues.
6. Adhere to College policies and processes and execute components of the Strategic Plan as directed.
7. Serve on College and PN Program committees and attend faculty meetings as required.
8. Provide leadership in the PN Program’s systematic plan of evaluation and continuous quality improvement necessary to maintain program accreditation by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN)
9. Maintain continuing professional development through academic courses, workshops, professional meetings, professional organization membership, etc. to meet accreditation expectations; maintain current RN license, immunization status and provide records to PN Program Director.
10. Participate in PN Program Pinning ceremony and commencement day exercises.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors of Nursing required; Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred; two-three years’ experience in clinical nursing; unencumbered Arkansas Registered Nurse License required.
