Job Description

Dr. Yu Chen’s Biophotonics Imaging Laboratory has an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) campus, located in Silver Spring, MD. The research area is focused on pulse oximetry. Examples of research projects include, but not limited to 1) fabrication of physical phantoms with biologically relevant properties of adult fingers; 2) Monte-Carlo simulation of light propagation in tissue; and 3) performing experimental measurements with finger-simulating phantoms.

Requirements

Candidates must have a PhD in biomedical engineering, optical engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, or other related fields, with experience in optical imaging/spectroscopy, Monte Carlo simulation, 3D printing, and phantom fabrication.

Additional Information

This position is supported in part by an NSF/FDA Scholar-in-Residence at FDA award and located with the US Food and Drug Administration campus in Silver Spring, MD.
