Research Assistant/Lab Manager, Cognitive Neuroimaging Laboratory – Georgetown University Medical Center

Job Overview

The Cognitive Neuroimaging Laboratory, directed by Dr. Xiong Jiang, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join the lab as a full-time Research Assistant/Lab Manager to work closely with a postdoctoral fellow to recruit and test participants, and to collect behavioral, cognitive, and multimodal neuroimaging data.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Lab Director/Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant/Lab Manager interacts daily with a postdoctoral fellow and works closely with a multidisciplinary research team, including neuroimaging, neuroscience, neurology, computer science, and psychology. Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Subject recruitment and testing, and subject reimbursement
  • Data entry and data validation
  • Data analysis
  • Help with IRB application, renewal, and modification, and other research related activities – that is, Georgetown Management System
  • Lab management – that is, helping the Principal Investigator to supervise undergraduate students

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Cognitive Science/ Neuroscience or a related field
  • Detail orientation and well organized
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred qualification

Experience with the older adults or those with cognitive impairments

Note: If needed, hired selected candidate will receive and complete MRI training.
