Job Description
Germanna is currently search for a Payroll and Adjunct Compensation Specialist . The Payroll and Adjunct Compensation Specialist is responsible for the generation of adjunct contracts, calculation of pay for adjuncts, as well as other pay as it relates to all faculty outside the scope of contractual duties/responsibilities. This position coordinates the development and implementation of processes and procedures as related to faculty compensation outside contractual duties. Supports the onboarding of new adjuncts to ensure instructors are activated in Peoplesoft. Additionally, this position monitors all HR and payroll transactions to and from SSC Payroll Center according to established agreements.
To be successful in this position one should feel comfortable with the following KSA’s:
- Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in accounting
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); Knowledge of Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB)
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations concerning payroll calculations and payroll deductions
- Intermediate computer skills including those of computerized payroll and human resources systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Excel
- Ability to reconcile and analyze mathematical data with close attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to interact professionally with staff and members of the public
- Ability to work with minimal supervision

- Bachelors’ degree in Business, Accounting, or Human Resources Management or related field
- 3 – 5 years of experience related to the duties outlined above; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Higher education experience preferred
