Description:

An exciting full-time opportunity as a Postdoctoral Associate exists in Gerontologic Biostatistics at the Yale School of Medicine. This candidate will be mentored by Drs. Joan Monin and Heather Allore at Yale School of Public Health and Dr. Nicholas Pajewski at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. The position is for up to 2 years with and opportunities for travel to collaborating institutions are available.

We are seeking a highly motivated researcher with an interest in embedded pragmatic clinical trials ePCTs) to work on methodological development in pragmatic dyadic study design. When examining the effectiveness of ePCTs for persons living with dementia (PLWD) and caregivers, it is important to consider how each dyad member influences the other over time.  PLWD and caregivers their perceptions differ making it necessary to understand whether effects of ePCTs may vary between PWDs and CGs. Therefore, recruiting dyads, designing studies to examine interpersonal process, and measuring outcomes consistently between dyad members is important. The position is supported by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) IMbedded Pragmatic Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and AD Related Dementias (AD/ADRD) Clinical Trials (IMPACT) Collaboratory. Principal goals of the NIA IMPACT Collaboratory are to develop and disseminate research methods and best practices in the conduct, and implementation of ePCT for people living with dementia and their caregivers. The Postdoctoral Associate will have the opportunity to work with a variety of mentors in the IMPACT Collaboratory and world leaders in pragmatic and cluster randomized trial designs.

Position Qualifications:

Qualifications are a PhD in biostatistics or quantitative methods or relevant areas, understanding of study design, strong programming skills, as well as good written and oral communication skills. Prior course work in dyadic analysis techniques and close relationships science are preferred. Strong preference will be given to individuals who are highly motivated to work in pragmatic trials and/or AD/ADRD care.
