Fixed-term Psychology Lecturer positions, School of Psychology, University of Surrey

The University of Surrey’s School of Psychology is looking to appoint a number of lecturers for a one-year term at the first instance. These posts will be part of the teaching team across the Department of Psychological Sciences, and we welcome applicants with experience of teaching in any of the department’s core teaching areas.

The University of Surrey is a top-ten UK University set in a beautiful campus half an hour’s journey from London. Surrey is rated highly for teaching, the University has a Gold TEF award, and the School of Psychology was rated 12th in the 2023 Complete University Guide League Table. As a growing School we are seeking to appoint several Teaching Fellows to support our excellent and established psychology teaching at both undergraduate and masters level.

The School has recently undergone a major refurbishment to enhance our environment including the on-site laboratories for neuroscience and VR research. There is an excellent Babylab with eye-tracking facilities suitable for use with very young children and we have two observation labs which can be used for both teaching and research. We have recently invested heavily in equipment for teaching methods to students including eye-trackers, Biopac data acquisition equipment, actigraphy watches and brain stimulation equipment with the intention to ensure that our students get useful hands-on experience with these technologies.

You will have the opportunity to register for our Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching if you do not already have a teaching qualification. There will be career mentoring available, and opportunities to engage in research. Successful applicants will be welcomed into whichever of the department’s research groups is most relevant to their research interests.

In addition to salary you will receive a generous annual leave entitlement, excellent development opportunities and a benefits package including pension, childcare assistance and other family-friendly policies.
