Job Summary/Basic Function | |
Specific Responsibilities | The Department of Biology at Indiana State University (ISU) invites applications for a tenure-track Cancer Biologist position at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biology or a related area, and demonstrated expertise in utilizing techniques from a wide array of genetic, molecular biology, cell biology, and bioinformatics approaches to address research questions focused on cancer. Postdoctoral and teaching experience is desirable. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate courses in genetics and graduate courses in cancer genetics and human genetics, and direct the research of graduate students in the Department’s doctoral and master’s programs. The successful candidate will also assume the position of Director of the Rich and Robin Porter Cancer Research Center (https://www.indstate.edu/cas/pcrc) and will have access to departmental facilities, including the Genomics/Next-generation Sequencing Core and the Cell and Tissue Culture facilities. The successful candidate will participate in undergraduate (e.g. majors and/or non-majors) and graduate instruction, as well as, direct graduate students in the Department’s doctoral and master’s programs. Many opportunities exist for collaborative research within the Department. |
