Position Summary:
 
UCI Graduate Division provides leadership on all graduate education matters. We work with all academic units on campus to ensure that scholars from all over the world can learn, teach, and conduct the highest caliber research while pursuing graduate or postdoctoral training. We promote academic integrity and greater understanding by supplying information, guidance, and support to the campus community and beyond. Our aim is to enhance the educational experience by engaging and leading on all matters related to graduate student life: academic progress and advocacy, fellowships, funding and financial support, diversity, employment, and professional development. The Graduate Division coordinates with other Graduate Divisions across the UC system to ensure high quality educational experiences and promotion of graduate education both system and state-wide.
 
Uses skills as a seasoned and experienced administrative operation professional to manage, plan and administer the operations of Graduate Division, an organizational unit with a staff of around 50, but a campus wide reach, as well as managing various Graduate Student Fellowships. Reports to the Assistant Dean, Alumni and External Affairs, and will work with other high-level Managers, Assistant Deans, and Grad Division Dean and Vice Provost. Perform short- and long-term planning for the organization in multiple facets and demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
 
Compensation Range:
 
$66,300 - $96,900

Required:
 
3-5 years’ experience.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning and, website design. Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting, and fund management. Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
 
Preferred:
 
Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.
 
Special Conditions Required:
 
May need to work some nights/weekends for events.
