Description
Post-doctoral positions are available to advance materials, methods, and instrumentation for electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy measurements of nanomaterials and biological systems. Our laboratory contains two continuous wave/pulsed spectrometer systems equipped with components that improve resolution, signal to noise, and decrease sampling time (Band et al. Journal of Magnetic Resonance,2018). Recent work includes design and fabrication of a metamaterial microresonator for EPR spectroscopy of sub-nanoliter volume samples (Abhyankar et al. Science Advances2020). Future work is anticipated in the areas of microresonator design, engineering biology/biomanufacturing, dioxygen imaging in 3D cell culture, and structural biology methods development. Knowledge of microwave engineering, experience in instrumentation development, or biological magnetic resonance are desirable. We offer a supportive environment that couples multidisciplinary scientific interactions with advanced measurement and nanofabrication capabilities.
