Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator I. The Program Coordinator I focuses on the recruitment of out-of-state students from Northern California to the university. Reporting to the Senior Admissions Officer for out-of-state Recruitment and Outreach, the Program Coordinator I has responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of the recruitment efforts planned and implemented within their assigned out-of-state EPS Markets.
Among the key duties of this position are:
  • Market planning, budget oversight and the creation of market analysis reports upon completion of the cycle.
  • Planning and coordination of high school visits, fairs and panels, online/virtual events, communications campaigns, and other programs to foster relationships with out-of-state counselors and students. Out-of-state students are a priority population for enrollment growth for the university.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement
Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility . Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine . Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of two years of related experience.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong computer literacy, and must demonstrate solid judgment, organizational, planning, coordination, time management, multi-tasking, and communication skills.
  • Motivated and imaginative with the ability to handle considerable and varied responsibilities; work well independently and on a team; and represent the university knowledgeably, articulately, and enthusiastically with an effective professional demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with diverse populations of students, staff, and faculty.
  • Experience in college admissions office or as a high school counselor.

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs
  • Must live in Northern California
Special Conditions
  • The position will be for 10 months of the year and operate from September 1 – June 30.
  • The offer is contingent upon the successful completion of all pre-employment screenings.
