Position Description | Postdoctoral fellowships on Genetics of T cell development The Meyer lab in the Simons Center for Quantitative Biology at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is looking for post-doctoral fellows interested in combining computational and experimental approaches to study the genetics of human T cell development. We have two, fully funded positions, with either a focus on experimental immunology or quantitative genetics and data analyses. Experience in both areas would be welcome, but sufficient enthusiasm and excitement to learn can replace lack of experience. Both projects revolve around the genetics of T cell development and immune cell function during childhood and their link to the genetics of immune-mediated diseases. Successful candidates will work as part of a larger interdisciplinary team of computational and experimental scientists and in collaboration with clinical investigators. For more information on our research program, see https://meyer-lab-cshl.github.io/ Environment: Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is a world-renowned research and education institution recognized internationally for its excellence in fundamental areas, such as cancer, neuroscience, plant biology, genomics, and quantitative biology. The Laboratory has long been recognized as a place for nurturing young scientists, with post-doctoral researchers being an integral part of the discovery process. The Laboratory offers a warm, collegial, and collaborative work environment in a beautiful location about one hour from New York City. We believe that science is for everyone. We have had researchers with a variety of backgrounds and believe in the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. |
Position Requirements | Qualifications: Required qualifications: A Ph.D. in computer science/computational biology/quantitative genetics and related fields (with strong programming skills and scientific data visualization) or immunology/biology (with experience in flow cytometry/live tissue cultures/microscopy); familiarity with sequencing technologies would be a plus. Candidates are expected to exhibit resourcefulness and independence, willing to take the lead and actively drive the research project. Compensation and Benefits: Our employees are compensated from a total rewards perspective in many ways for their contributions to our mission, including competitive pay, exceptional health benefits, retirement plans, time off, a range of recognition, wellness programs and access to an affordable and licensed on-site childcare center. Visit our CSHL Benefits & Postdoctoral Fellow sites to learn more. How to Apply: Please submit a CV, a short description of how our research interests overlap, and contact information for two references to: hmeyer@cshl.edu . In additional, all applicants should create an account and apply to the position found here: https://cshl.peopleadmin.com/postings/19234 Position ID: 03126-R You are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as a condition to your employment at the Laboratory.
