Description
A fully-funded, three-year Post-Doctoral Research Associate Position is available starting as soon as October 2022 (start date is negotiable) with Dr. Heather Alexander in the Forest and Fire Ecology Lab at Auburn University (Auburn, Alabama, USA) to study carbon resiliency following fire and wind disturbances in upland oak and pine forests utilizing observational methods and experimental field experiments across a variety of sites in the southeastern U.S. The primary objective of the research is to determine how carbon stocks fluctuate over short (weeks to months) and long temporal (years to decades) scales in common southern forest types experiencing different disturbance regimes with consideration of both above- and belowground carbon stocks at the forest ecosystem scale.
