Post Doctoral Associate

Job Description

We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow to work on CRISPR-Cas gene editing of the Huntington’s Disease (HD) gene in collaboration with the labs of Neil Aronin and Scot Wolfe at UMass Chan. HD is a devasting neurodegenerative disease that has no effective treatment. We are developing novel gene editing approaches to inactivate or correct the CAG repeat expansion that causes HD. These studies implement cutting edge gene editing and NGS methods as well as preclinical studies in cell culture and animal models. The methods developed for HD may be applicable to a series of genetic disorders causes by expansion of short tandem repeat sequences. For an example of a recent study from the lab see https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34376056/
