Post Doctoral Fellow

Postdoctoral fellow positions are available immediately in the Oklahoma Center for Respiratory and Infectious Diseases (https://ocrid.okstate.edu/) and the Department of Physiological Sciences at Oklahoma State University to study host-pathogen interactions with a focus on influenza virus, SARS-CoV-2 and/or mycobacterium tuberculosis, pathogenesis of lung diseases (IPF and COPD), and stem cell therapy and human lung tissue modeling. Major techniques used in the lab include high throughput analyses (bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, spatial gene profiling, proteomics and genome-wide CRISPR library screen), gene knockout/down and overexpression (CRISPR/Cas9, RNA interference and molecular cloning), gene and protein quantitation (droplet digital PCR, real-time PCR, Western blotting and immunostaining), biochemical, molecular and cellular techniques, knockout and transgenic mice and various animal models. Candidates will have opportunities to learn various advanced technologies, develop professional career skills including presentation, networking and grant writing and collaborate with research faculty, postdoctoral fellows and PhD students in the lab.

May have to work on nights and or weekends depending on the research being done.

Position Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Physiology or related field and a background in microRNA/LncRNA-influenza virus interactions, and/or engineering stem cells with non-coding RNAs for treating lung diseases. Also a background in lung diseases, influenza virus and/or stem cells is a plus.
