Responsible for tutoring Arabic language college students and complete some lab aide work.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Tutor students from Arabic 1010, 1020, 2010, 2020, 1300, 1900, 2300, and 2900 classes. Proctor language tests. Responsibilities may include some front desk work. May be expected to open/and or close the Language Center at least one day per week.
Preferred Qualifications
Native speaker of Arabic, language teaching or tutoring experience. Good computer skills.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Native or near native fluency, familiar with Arabic culture, basic computer skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.

Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Some front desk work, help students with computer-based. Assist with in-class or online language learning programs. Should be able to close or open the Center for Languages at least once a week.
Special Instructions
Work study is awarded to SLCC students through the Federal College Work Study program, which requires establishing financial need through the FAFSA application from the Financial Aid Office. If you do not have work study awarded to you, you will not be eligible for work under work study positions.
