Postdoctoral Research Scientist- Microbiology position is available in CrossLife Technologies. CrossLife Technologies is dedicated to developing and commercializing novel diagnostics based on innovative nucleic acid technologies for many diseases.

We have an immediate opening for a Post Doctoral Scientist - Microbiology. The successful candidate must have hands-on experiences in experience point-of-care diagnostic. She/He will engage in the design and microbial production of protein building blocks that generate innovative materials with programmable patterns, architectures, and emergent biological functions. The project will involve research at the intersections of biological and (bio)chemical engineering, and synthetic biology. This person will be involved in the R&D of medical point-of-care diagnostic products and performed all duties and tasks assigned by Supervisor. Responsible for research and development of products from feasibility through clinical trials and transfer to manufacturing. He/She should be highly motivated and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. This position requires a familiarity with laboratory and sterile techniques as well as a working knowledge of standard laboratory equipment and reagents.

The successful candidate must have hands-on experiences in a wide variety of Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Biochemistry techniques. He or she will be responsible for working closely with other members of the R&D team. The ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up work environment with extreme deadlines and deliverables. Ability to juggle and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Experience using both Macs and PCs. Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral). Requirements: Ph.D. of Science in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Bioengineering or related field and a minimum of 1 years related work experience. Experience in with genetic engineering, synthetic biology methods, protein design, engineering and purification, qPCR using TaqMan. Strong experience in Microbiology, Molecular Biology including standard cloning techniques, sequence analysis, DNA and RNA extraction, ligation, PCR. Have the ability and commitment to work to deadlines as part of a team.
