We are seeking a driven postdoctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to high visible research projects. Your work will aid in the development of new predictive circulating biomarkers to be used in disease states of interest to Lilly. In this role, you will:
  • Learn about the disease states from experienced and prominent scientists in the field at Lilly; investigate the role of specific circulating proteins in disease progression and develop the necessary assays to measure their levels/activity.
  • Work in a highly collaborative environment, and interact with members of clinical teams, as well as discovery departments (e.g., Diabetes and diabetic complications, Neuroscience, Immunology) and statisticians.
  • Identify areas of key need across clinical development and champion creative solutions to address those needs. Maintain external awareness and learning to benefit the organization.
  • Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.
Basic Qualifications
PhD in a relevant life science-related field (e.g. biotechnology, molecular biology, cellular biology)
Additional Information
This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend to 3 years and for maximum of up to 4 years.
Additional Skills/Preferences
If you are described with these skills, you could be a great fit for the role:
  • Expert in mammalian cell culture and cell-based assays, cell and molecular biology techniques; in-depth understanding of protein analytical methods including: gel electrophoresis, immunoprecipitation and ELISA.
  • Background in the biology of diabetic complications or of the complement system is a plus
  • Self-directed, highly motivated and curious individual who wants to learn new techniques while continually pursuing research and publication goals.
  • Excellent communicator (oral and written) with presentation experience, along with a strong publication record.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting
