Position Overview

The Part-time Workforce Instructor promotes OCHIN's mission by providing core content instruction to students based on industry standards and practices. This person plays an instrumental role carrying out organizational strategies regarding training development, delivery, and workforce enhancement. Additionally, the instructor also works in tandem with program leadership and cross-department representatives to maximize academic achievement, retention, completion, certification, and placement outcomes to ensure overall health and integrity of the program.

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

To keep our colleagues, members, and communities safe, OCHIN requires all employees—including remote employees, contractors, interns, and new hires—to be vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, as supported by state and federal public health officials, as a condition of employment. All new hires are required to provide proof of full vaccination or receive approval for a medical or religious exemption before their hire date.

Essential Duties

  • Teaching Workforce Development curriculum in accordance with industry standards and practices.
  • Facilitating discussion forum to ensure student/trainee engagement and interaction.
  • Proactively monitors the performance of students/trainees and actively outreaches as needed.
  • Provides academic feedback in a constructive, positive, and timely manner.
  • Creates learning support tools to support students/trainees based on demonstrated needs.
  • Is regularly active in assigned courses and hosts weekly office hours.
  • May provide instruction in synchronous group sessions based on student/trainee needs.
  • Maintains training records and tracks data required for improvement of training content and delivery.
  • Other duties as needed to support the organizational mission and goals.

Schedule: 20 hours a week, 4 hours a day with varying shifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience and progressive growth in the field of instruction.
  • Undergraduate degree with an equivalent of 15 semester credit hours in the subject field. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Experience designing training curricula and materials.
  • Experience in the delivery of content to non-traditional students/trainees.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with in-patient or out-patient workflows in the field of instruction.
  • Familiarity with both Learning Management Systems, and Electronic Medical Record Systems (i.e. Epic).
  • Experience with curriculum design and delivery of instruction.
  • Experience in the coordination and management of internship/externship programs.

  • This position is 100% remote. Work from home requirements are:
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment

    • It is a requirement that employees work in a distraction free workplace
    • Travel may be required based on business requirements for OCHIN
