The Benveniste is seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoctoral fellows to join our team and gain experience in a multidisciplinary, dynamic and fun research environment.
The Benveniste Laboratory is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms that control neuroinflammation and the roles of neuroinflammation in autoimmune diseases, such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and Alzheimer's Disease (AD). The group uses mouse and/or rat models in combination with genetic, genomics, microscopy and behavioral techniques.
The applicant will have the creative freedom to pursue independent research projects across the general research interest area of the lab. In addition to scientific training, the applicant will be expected to provide support in management and organization of the lab including but not limited to mentorship/training of graduate students, undergraduate students and research technicians. Applicants should have a PhD or MD degree in molecular biology, genetics, neuroscience, biochemistry, computational biology or a related field.

- Ability to work efficiently and be adaptable to changing priorities.
Proficiency in 1 or more of the following technical skills is preferred but not required. Training will be provided:
- Basic molecular biology techniques including cloning, nuclei acid electrophoresis, etc
- Microscopy
- Next generation sequencing (RNA-Seq, scRNA-Seq and/or Cite-Seq) and accompanying bioinformatics analysis
- Animal surgery and flow cytometry
