The Pinkerton Research Group (http://www.pinkertonresearch.com/) in the Chemical
and Biomolecular Engineering department at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is
seeking to hire a Post Doctoral Researcher to work on exciting projects in biomaterials
and drug delivery vehicle design for biomedical applications.


The Pinkerton Research Group focuses on developing responsive soft materials for bio-
applications ranging from controlled drug delivery to vaccines to medical imaging. Taking
an interdisciplinary approach, we use tools from chemical and materials engineering,
nanotechnology, chemistry and biology to create soft materials via scalable synthetic
processes. We focus on understanding how process parameters control the final
material properties, and in turn, how the material behaves in biological systems.
We are looking for a highly motivated, efficient, creative and independent researcher
interested in nanoformulation and nanoassembly for drug delivery applications in cancer
and chronic pain.

The Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering department is at the center of a
high-tech start-up culture where student and faculty innovation and entrepreneurship
activities are supported and nurtured both in New York City, Brooklyn and across the
NYU Global Network University.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates have a PhD in chemical engineering, materials
engineering, process engineering, physical chemistry or similar fields and are interested
in bioapplications. It is expected that the candidate will lead interdisciplinary research
projects, be an efficient experimentalists and mentor fellow lab members. Effective
communication skills are required.

The position is for 1 year with the possibility to extend up to an additional 2 years. Though flexible, the start date will be in fall 2022. Priority will be given to candidates with external fellowships.
