Opportunity Overview
Caz is a mission-driven organization seeking a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead and support its staff to improve the lives of Western New York families and their loved ones affected by substance use.

The CEO will articulate and promote the organization’s mission, develop sufficient resources for the financial health of the agency, and position the agency to continue to meet the needs of individuals and families challenged by substance use.
What Is Required
The CEO will assess the organization’s activities and operations in a new political, social and post COVID environment. With this knowledge in hand, the CEO will work with staff and the Board to set a forward-looking strategic direction and objectives for the organization.

The CEO will ensure ongoing programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, communications, and systems while recommending timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals and mission.

The CEO must possess the following:

  • Strong management skills, oral and written communications skills, problem-solving skills, and a general knowledge of business law.
  • Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care, Person Centered Care, and Harm Reduction Principles.
  • Sound working knowledge of the principles and practices of fiscal management.
  • Ability to illustrate leadership through competence and able to develop the skills and knowledge of staff to be effective team members.
  • Ability to learn the principles of substance use disorders and the dynamics of recurrences of use and recurrence prevention expeditiously.
  • Ability to convert substance knowledge into the design, development, and implementation of a comprehensive continuum of substance use disorder services.
  • Ability to respond to crises and maintain agency reputation through emergencies as it relates to individual safety, program impact, and community impact.
  • Knowledge of computer data systems and the willingness to learn the agency’s applicable programs.
  • Valid New York State driver’s license and is willing to use personal vehicle to attend off- site work-related activities.

QualificationsMaster’s degree required, Terminal Degree preferred in one of the following disciplines: Social Sciences, Human Relations, or Business Administration with at least four years’ experience in the areas of administration, program development and substance use programs.The salary range for this position is $160,000 – $180,000 depending on education and relevant experience. Cazenovia Recovery Systems, Inc. also offers a competitive benefits package. The anticipated start date is January 2023.
