Job Description
This job description is a general description of the essential job functions. The primary function of this position is to provide administrative support for the Student Accessibility Resources (SAR) Department including: written and electronic correspondence, data entry, telephone, assisting students, customer service, work-processing/typing, maintaining/ordering supplies, scanning documentation, file management; and other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties Summary
Prepare, maintain, and secure student files/records in approved GCSC database. This includes: intake information, semester accommodation plans, and documentation in approved electronic format. Prepare student files/records for purging according to stated guidelines.
Attend, record, and type minutes at SAR staff meetings and meetings with faculty/students as needed.
General Clerical Responsibilities: Prepare paper/electronic correspondence, check SAR mailbox – open and distribute, answer SAR telephone, monitor and respond to SAR emails, and maintain SAR Calendar. Receive incoming SAR students, relay program information, address questions, and provide information resources. Assist students with navigation of SAR website, SAR application, Lighthouse, and RegisterBlast.
Facilitate SAR student renewal of accommodations and new student appointments by phone/email.
Track, monitor, and prepare reports for: Monthly Attendance Sheet for full-time SAR staff, Faculty Notification of Accommodations status, Voter Registration, and usage of services.
Maintain SAR Budget records in conjunction with the Coordinator. Obtain competitive quotes for program purchasing needs, prepare purchase orders, check requisitions, and petty cash requests.
Assist with the SAR Department and/or the Testing Center, which may include: receiving and organizing testing information from instructors, communicating with instructors about testing information, monitoring test register system and scheduling testing rooms, seating students for tests, entering passwords, and proctoring/monitoring video cameras.
Prepare flyers/information pamphlets for SAR as needed.
Recruit Note-Taker/Student Assistants (SA), complete onboarding, organize SA duties, follow up with SA’s work product, and approving SA timesheets.
Maintain cooperative relationships with GCSC faculty and staff to best support student needs. Embrace feedback and constructive criticism in the spirit of constant improvement.
All other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor(s) including but not limited to; preparing, organizing, and printing reports and forms in addition to serving as point of contact in the SAR department for staff technology questions/needs. Updating SAR Website as needed, in conjunction with the Coordinator and/or GCSC Webmaster.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative setting with proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated secretarial experience to include: typing skills of 45wpm, data entry, and ability to start, stop, and resume tasks in spite of interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates Degree
  • Minimum of two years’ experience working with Assistive/Adaptive Technology and Students with Disabilities
