Minimum Qualifications:

  • Communicates with applicants and students concerning orientation, registration, and enrollment activities, and maintains academic history files for applicants, enrollees, and alumni of the College.
  • Assures that interested persons receives the necessary forms for proper enrollment.
  • Prepares, processes, and mails requests for admissions applications and materials, attendance and enrollment verifications, and related office data.
  • Prepares official transcript requests and assures that the integrity of student records is not compromised.
  • Answers office telephones, greets visitors provides information relative to scheduled courses, curriculums, calendar of events, college rules and regulations, enrollment history and admissions information, and related activities.
  • Inputs applications and other data to CRM and personal computers; conducts inquiries relative to enrollment, demographic, financial aid, withdrawals and other admissions and enrollment functions.
  • Scans old and new student records to ensure integrity and security of academic information.
  • Evaluates student transcripts for transfer credit and inputs transfer credits into Banner.
  • Calculates and counsel’s students on GPA's, if necessary, for Allied Health.
  • Processes student's request for academic bankruptcy and make adjustments to the student's transcript.
  • Processes no-show appeals.
  • Documents receipt of official high school transcripts or equivalent, test scores for students who pass the Ability to Benefit Test.
  • Assists in the registration process to include directing students to locations to receive proper advisement, schedule in-put and receipt of charges by the Business Office.
  • Assist with Dual Enrollment upon request of the supervisor.
  • Prepares requisitions and orders for office supplies, computer equipment, fax machines, copiers, printer, and other inventory, as needed.
  • Assists the academic dean and counselor in verifying that graduation requirements have been met.
  • Orders and distributes academic regalia for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Prepares and distributes diplomas for graduation.
  • Dispense reports in a timely manner using Argos accessing class rosters to run class reports.
  • Comply with all Policies of the Alabama Community College System and the College.
  • Serve on the Bishop State Community College Committees.
  • Serves on standing committees as assigned.
  • Attends relative conferences, seminars, and professional development workshops.
  • Comply with all policies of the State Board of Education, the Department of Postsecondary Education, and Bishop State Community College.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, Chief Student Affairs Officer, Director of Financial Aid, or President.

Essential Job Functions: Work is generally performed in an office environment with frequent interruptions and irregularities in the work schedule. Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding. Frequent walking, standing, or sitting may be required. Working hours may vary and occasional evening or weekend work is required. No special coordination beyond that used for normal mobility and handling of everyday objects and materials is needed to perform the job satisfactorily.

Salary: ACCS Salary Schedule -E4-06 ($26,129-$40,986)

The Selection Committee will screen all applicants for the position.
