Agricultural and Biological Engineering (ABE) Department and Southwest Florida Research and Education Center, University of Florida (UF), seeks a post-doctoral associate to work on a state-funded multi-disciplinary Best Management Practices (BMP) project to develop water and phosphorus management strategies for high-value fresh crops. The post-doc will help collect and analyze the soil, plant (biomass, yield) and hydrologic (surface and ground water) data from multiple sites in Florida. They will work with other UF faculty with expertise in hydrology and water quality, agronomy, soil, water and ecosystem sciences, statistics, pathology and entomology, and economics to help collect and analyze data which will include UAV-based data at field-scale on plant performance. They may be expected to supervise support staff including biological scientists/engineer.

Expected Salary:

50-60,000/year; commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have Ph.D. in agricultural/biological engineering, soil science, agronomy, or related disciplines. Candidates must be supportive of the mission of the Land-Grant system. Candidates must also have a commitment to IFAS core values of excellence, diversity, global involvement, and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants with strong background in phosphorus cycling and transport in a cropping system and statistics will be preferred. Prior experience with biophysical models is a plus.
