Summary of the Position: Youth Advocate Program is looking for a fulltime Life Skills Coordinator to work with male and female youth ages 14 years old to 21 years old. To receive services participants must meet the DCP&P criteria. The Coordinator will be responsible for engaging youth in structured activities, family engagement and active collaboration with community-based agencies. The person in this position will carry a caseload up to 23 youth at any given time during the agency’s fiscal year. Average time for a youth participating in the program is approximately 1 year, meeting with the Life Skills Coordinator for approximately 2 hours per week. The Coordinator utilizes the Casey Life Skills Assessment tool and Curriculum to help participants achieve their long-term goals. It aims to set youth on their way toward developing healthy, productive lives.

In addition, as an employee of YAP, the Life Skills Coordinator will assume an active role in improving his/her department/program outcome and overall organizational performance through participation in Company quality improvement activities.

Full time position working with at risk youth that are aging out the DCP&P system.

Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university. Proficient in Reading, Writing, and Microsoft Office. Good Documentation and Communication Skills. Clean Driving Record, Familiar with Department of Children and Families, and has experience working with youth and families involved with Child Protective Services, Exhibits Good Judgement.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and minimum car insurance limits of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident bodily injury liability.
