Position Introduction

Student Success Center student employees will gain valuable professional skills while working around their class schedule. Student employees will work at the front desk, greeting students and answering questions in person or on the phone about student life, student organizations, and activities. Student employees oversee the environment of the Student Success Center, ensuring it is clean and inclusive for all. Tasks such as creating new student ID cards and managing time in meeting rooms are part of day-to-day operations as well. Employees will collaborate with supervisors and other student employees on projects and events.  

Position Summary

Provides assistance in the Student Success Center.

Director of Student Engagement and Support

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

- Monitoring front desk, welcoming guests, answering questions about Student Life and Student Diversity and Inclusion
- Distributing “The Flush” to bathrooms across campus as scheduled (usually every other week)
- Maintaining a respectful and inclusive environment in the Student Success Center
- Creating Student IDs
- Cleaning and tidying the Student Success Center throughout the day
Students will have the opportunity to lead initiatives such as:
· Event set-up and clean-up
· Researching and writing promotional materials for Student Life and Student Diversity and Inclusion initiatives/events
· Assisting clubs and organizations (reserving rooms, arranging purchases, filing documents)
· Planning student events
· Designing and proofreading marketing materials
· Recording podcast content
· Student Life social media
· Open gym

Required Education

High School graduate or equivalent

Skills and Specifications

- Ability to use Microsoft Office products
- Ability to use office equipment (fax, copier, etc)
- Customer service
