Job Summary:
Do you have experience with computer information systems, networks, and/or programming logic? Do you want to share your knowledge with college students? If so, than Kalamazoo Valley may have the perfect part-time opportunity for you.

We are seeking instructors to teach various courses related to Computer Information Systems.

Examples include:
  • CIS 105: Intro to Computer Information Systems
    This course is for students interested in information technology but have limited technical knowledge of computing systems. Students will explore foundational concepts related to computer hardware and software, networking, databases, programming, information systems, and data security. The course includes hands-on labs to reinforce essential concepts. As the student performs real-world tasks associated with various IT fields, they will gain a broad understanding of available career options.
  • CIS 150: Programming Logic
    This course introduces students to the essential programming knowledge for advancing to a programming language course. Learning will include the fundamentals of structured program design, including standard business programming algorithms and documentation practices. It familiarizes the student with the flow of program logic, flowcharting, use of the three necessary control structures of programming, an introductory structured programming language and design methodologies. Concepts such as multiple level accumulation and array processing are included.
  • CIS 221: Introduction to Networks
    This course covers networking architecture, structure, and function. It introduces the principles and structure of IP addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations to provide a foundation for the curriculum. This is the first of four networking courses required to prepare students for the CCNA (Certified Cisco Network Administrator) Certification Exam.
Minimum Qualifications:
An associates degree in a related field with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience OR a bachelors degree in a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required.

Other requirements may apply depending on course(s) taught.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
A masters degree in a related field is preferred.
Prior teaching experience is preferred.
