Job Description
The mission of the Campus Store food service operation is to provide a convenient, affordable, and efficient source for food and beverages on campus for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Anoka Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College. All employees of ATC and ARCC are responsible for promoting a culture that supports diversity and inclusion in all forms as well as providing excellent customer service continuously to all internal and external contacts.
The Food Service Supervisor will manage and supervise the cafes at both colleges. This position will also ensure adequate internal controls and compliance with state and Federal laws and regulations. Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to; maintaining adequate staffing, providing training for customer service, and setting all standards for proper sanitation and food quality. The Food Service Supervisor position is responsible for all functions of the cafes by ensuring adequate revenue is generated to exceed or meet cost related to food service operations.
This position will have responsibilities at both colleges and the home campus will be Anoka Technical College.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse and multi-cultural and multiracial community.
  • Experience in culinary and cooking including the knowledge of the tools used in food service facilities and maintenance of equipment.
  • Knowledge of health, sanitation and safety principles and practices involved in large scale food preparation.
  • Previous supervisory and/or leadwork experience.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to effectively interact with employees, students, college staff, administration and members of the public using the cafes and catering services.
  • Knowledge and clear understanding of customer service standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in food service management.
  • Experience with creating policies and procedures related to food service operations.
  • Knowledge of nutritional values and fundamental dietary principles.
  • Experience in costing out and pricing menu items.
  • Serv-Safe Food Manager Certification.
  • Associates Degree in food service or hospitality management.
