Minimum Qualifications

Diploma in Computer Integrated Machining

Work Experience

Minimum of three (3) years experience in a Machining environment and having CNC programming, set-up, and operator experience

Preferred Qualifications

  1. An associate or higher degree in the field of Machining Technology or a closely related area.
  2. Experience in programming and operation of CNC machine tools using MasterCAM software.
  3. Experience with drawing mechanical parts and blueprints using Solid works CAD software or another type of CAD software system. (Auto Desk Inventor, Pro-engineering, etc.…)

  1. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication/public relation skills.
  2. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  4. Ability to correctly interpret blueprints.
  5. Ability to think creatively and put ideas into action.
  6. Ability to make presentations to large audiences.
  7. Excellent computer skills as evidenced by experience and competence with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
  8. Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  9. Understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of a community college.

Essential Functions

1. Able to instruct students in various skills related to machining classes.
2. Meet with class for assigned hours and deliver relevant instruction in lecture and laboratory settings as appropriate; file appropriate class cancellation forms as needed when a class cannot meet, scheduling make-up work or meetings consistent with college policy.
3. Maintain class electronic attendance records in a timely fashion.
4. Develop and maintain a consistent policy for course evaluation (grading).
5. Communicate course expectations to students in a consistent and understandable manner, e.g., by developing a syllabus consistent with college policies.
6. Respond to student questions and complaints as appropriate, and in a manner consistent with college policies.
7. File electronic grade reports in a timely fashion, consistent with deadlines.
8. Maintain course records as needed for documentation of grading and for use in tracking student learning outcomes as needed.
9. Assist in the maintenance of safe and orderly instructional spaces as needed.
