Director, Native American Student Affairs

Job Description

The Office of Diversity and Inclusion seeks a dynamic, results-oriented leader, and inclusive collaborator to work with and support Native American and Indigenous students at the University of Arizona. The ideal candidate will have a deep grounding in and knowledge of the cultural, social, financial, and lifeways needs that impact the arc of success for Native American students in higher education. The Director of NASA plays a leading role on campus as planner, strategist, and collaborator with other centers and initiatives serving the multicultural student body and Native American students specifically in recruitment, retention, persistence, well-being, and graduation. The ideal candidate will have a deep and demonstrable understanding of the importance of affirmation and celebration of identity, culture, traditions, and language in the human development of Native American and Indigenous students and communities. In addition to the core duties and responsibilities listed below, the Director of NASA has the added charge to coordinate and implement services to students that interface with other campus leaders around specific tribal sovereignty policies and projects.
