Job Summary

On call / Part-Time, SLCC Motor Pool, Van, and Motor Coach bus driver to drive the college Vans and Motor Coach buses for the different college activities.
This can include the college athletic teams to their sporting events and other college groups to their activities.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Drive the college vans or buses for the transportation needs of our SLCC Sports teams, Students, Faculty, Staff to different college activities in a safe and timely manner.
Assist with loading and unloading is a safe fashion.
Assist with the safe loading and unloading of passengers, sports gear, and luggage. This includes being able to lift up to 50 plus lbs. in and out of the storage areas.
Conduct Pre-and Post-trip inspection to ensure safe and proper operations and working conditions of the vans motor coaches.
Driver needs to be safe, courteous, and professional.
Keep the vans, buses clean while on trip, this includes the inside and outside. Provide a pleasant friendly and safe environment for all passengers. May need to empty the lavatory holding tanks on long trips. Keep the ELD logs current, along with all inspection logs.

Minimum Qualifications

Valid Utah Commercial driver license class A or B, with air brake, passenger endorsement.
Current DOT medical card
Able to work weekdays, weekends, and nights
Preferred two or more years of documented passenger driving experience, this can include school bus driving. Able to lift 50 plus lbs.
Able to pass a pre-screening drug and alcohol test and criminals background check

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Safe operation of vans and buses including motor coach buses.
  • Able to use and read maps and GPS devices
  • Able to plan routes and maintain route schedules, while being flexible due to event changes and weather or traffic.
  • Safe loading and unloading of gear, luggage, and passengers.
  • Able to use web base software such as ELD logs, inspection logs, training activities, Sprocket Time and Materials, Microsoft 365 such as word, excel and outlook calendar. Keep current and follow DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
  • Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
