Monitors and maintains IT instructional and production lab and server environments for the Information Technologies program at Durham technical Community College
General Qualifications for the position:
Student must be currently enrolled in a IT networking, network security or information systems support curriculum. Student must’ve completed either NOS110, NOS130 and NET125; OR CTI 120, 140 and NET125 or equivalent combination of networking, virtualization and OS experience. Basic knowledge of Windows server and Active Directory helpful.
Student should possess good communication skills and be eager to assist students needing help understanding IT related concepts needed for completing assignments while resolving any technical issues in the open Lab which may arise.
Student should be willing to explore, learn and resolve a variety of IT related issues a fairly autonomous environment.

Job Duties
Student is responsible for assisting and monitoring IT program students attending our daily IT open lab environments as well as monitoring and maintaining the IT infrastructure. Technical duties include server and workstation setup and configuration, patch management, maintenance of active directory, imaging operating systems for deployment and other special projects as directed.
Projects are often geared toward the interests of the work study student.
Approx. Position Breakdown:
Lab Monitoring and Assistance: 50%;
Infrastructure Maintenance 30%;
Special IT related Projects 20%
