Overview
Our mission at Discreet Labs is to make privacy more programmable through adoption of applied cryptography, and decentralized blockchain technology.
Discreet Labs is the developer of Findora, a public blockchain with programmable privacy. The original research team behind Findora also invented Bulletproofs, a type of zero-knowledge proofs that have been widely used across different blockchains such as Monero, Mimblewimble, and Grin. Discreet Labs has implemented Bulletproofs on Findora to support confidential transactions, and private asset issuance. The company is also working on additional zero-knowledge proofs to support confidential smart contracts for more programmable privacy.

We have offices in Palo Alto, CA and Beijing, China, plus we have the platform tools and benefits to support you in your remote work environment.
Although this position will be remote, with occasional travel to North America, Europe and Asia, it will require working hours that overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST). Strong written and spoken language proficiency in English is required, although knowledge of other languages (e.g. Mandarin), would be an advantage in order to liaise with stakeholders across the world.
Impact
We're looking for a communications manager with deep crypto expertise to join Discreet Lab's communications team. This person will be responsible for driving awareness for Findora amongst the crypto and blockchain community. You'll lead day-to-day efforts related to engaging with the crypto trade media. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will also support other parts of our communications function, including product launches on an ad-hoc basis.

What you'll be doing (Responsibilities):

  • Build and execute on a proactive communications plan to drive awareness for Findora and our products within the crypto and blockchain communities.
  • Ensure Findora is represented at relevant key crypto events both online and offline .
  • Develop content together with the product and engineering team to help make Findora a go-to resource for the crypto community.
  • Contribute to optimizing resources available for external developers , by testing guides ,docs and various other content created by the engineering team .
  • Build narratives and communications plans that support the company's crypto-first narrative.
  • Be available to all members of the communications team to share your experience and help with all facets of the company's communications plan as needed.

Requirements

  • Creative storytelling with an understanding of what stories resonate with the media and an audience of crypto developers and the broader crypto ecosystem.
  • Strong interest in and familiarity with crypto technology and the community.
  • Experience telling a product story through media, social channels and community relations including Medium, Discord and Twitter and Telegram
  • Ability to confidently present Findora on AMAs
  • A demonstrated ability to understand complex subject matter, along with the skills needed to simplify and explain these topics for a broad audience of stakeholders.
  • Native to social media platforms.
  • Stellar writing and storytelling skills: prose that's clear and concise, with an eye toward eliminating jargon.
  • PR + crypto equals a fast-paced working environment. You should be unflappable at crunch time, and be able to deliver a quality product under the most stressful of circumstances.
  • Collaborative working style: Our team is small and nimble and, we all jump in and work together to support each other when company priorities require all hands on deck.

Nice to haves:

  • 1 - 3 years relevant work experience at either a PR agency or on an in-house communications team.
  • Passionate about Crypto – Potentially recent graduates
  • An understanding of the regulatory, security and technical landscapes influencing the state of cryptocurrency today (and keen to stay UpToDate to take on those of tomorrow).
  • Experience with financial tech or traditional financial services.
