Are you passionate about building solutions for our greatest national challenges?

Are you searching for engaging work with an employer that prioritizes impact, innovation, and personal development? Do you value working with innovative technology?

If so, we 're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL!

To address emerging national challenges, we develop software systems that enable the application of data science and artificial intelligence (AI) to a variety of domains, such as cyber operations, healthcare, social media analysis, and image and video exploitation. Our group is making critical contributions in the fight of online misinformation, cyber attacks and the COVID-19 pandemic. We want talented people who can work as part of a team to craft, implement, test, and maintain state of the art data infrastructures. You will combine your data engineering skills with the newest technology in order to build rapid prototypes in all kinds of environments to support all forms of data modalities.

As a Data Engineer, you will...

  • Aggregate and make available complex datasets that meet internal research and sponsor requirements
  • Collaborate with sponsors and researchers to better understand their data needs
  • Manage data in clean and secure ways
  • Use and build monitoring tools that help all parties understand health of the data and underlying infrastructure
  • Create AI-based analysis tools that will help downstream users analyze and understand data
  • Continually identify and implement new technologies within the field
