A post-doctoral fellow or scientist position (0 ~ 5 years of postdoc experience) is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Xuejun Wang in the Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Dakota. The projects focus on cardiac physiology and pathophysiology, with an emphasis on the regulation of protein degradation pathways. A PhD with an emphasis in molecular/cellular biology, physiology, molecular pharmacology, or related field is required as well as a willingness to work with animal model systems. Experience in molecular cloning and confocal microscopy or in mouse exercise physiology is desirable but not required. This is a grant-funded position with funds available for two to four years with extensions contingent on future funding. In addition to research experience (developing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, writing peer-reviewed manuscripts), opportunities for professional development (mentor training, grant writing, etc.) will also be provided.
