Lecturer in Public Administration/Public Policy

We are currently investing in and expanding our successful Politics and International Relations department (PAIR) at the University of Southampton. We are looking to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) who specialises in public administration and public policy. The successful candidate will support our Masters in Public Administration programme and extend our world-class research cluster in this field.

About You

As a Lecturer you will hold a central role in furthering the research of PAIR. You will have a strong research background and promising research agenda in public administration/public policy, with evidence of capacity to publish in leading international journals in this field and attract external funding. Linking to our University Strategy, you will be able to show the links between your research, education and, if appropriate, knowledge exchange / enterprise.

The ideal candidate will extend and expand our teaching capacity, particularly for the growing Masters in Public Administration programme. The candidate must be able to convene and deliver modules in public administration and public policy at the postgraduate and undergraduate level, and develop new modules in these fields. Experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels is desirable. Whether developing your own teaching approaches, acting as supervisor to your students (UG, Masters and PhD) or contributing to the effective administration of our department, you will enjoy scope to innovate and make a significant impact.
