Location: Remote (ChildFund International Country Office Location)

Reporting Relationship: Senior Director, Program Delivery Support

SUMMARY
The Senior Advisor position provides technical support and leadership to strengthen ChildFund International’s global program portfolio and enhance program quality on behalf of children in development and emergency contexts, with a focus on Early Childhood Development (Life Stage 1, ages 0 – 5 years). This team member works collaboratively with divisional and global colleagues in line with ChildFund’s theories of change across our life stage approach, which are also comprised of Life Stage 2 (6-14 years) and Life Stage 3 (15 – 24 years).

Technical Support for Program Design and Implementation

  • Build capacity on technical elements related to Early Childhood Development and parenting interventions
  • Provide oversight and support of program model adaptation and implementation country office teams using program design tools to strengthen organizational capacity to achieve clear and consistent quality standards for Life Stage 1 (LS1)
  • Collaborate with other Sr. Advisors to support country office teams to plan and execute the roll-out of program models with partners
  • Ensure high quality implementation of research and evaluation activities to support program model and other ECD programming interventions
  • Contribute to cross-functional and global teams on specific tasks or projects, as assigned



Resource Mobilization

  • In collaboration with the Business Development unit, corporate fundraising unit and country office staff, support and/or lead the technical design and writing for grant proposals with a focus on ECD.

Visibility and Representation

  • Build/deepen partnerships with ECD/nurturing care development actors based on organizational strategy.
  • Support the generation of ECD programming content for internal and external communications e.g., blog posts, briefs, articles.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Required

  • 8 to 10 years of programming experience across multiple country/regional contexts relevant early childhood, education, health a similar field with a minimum of 3 years international field experience.
  • Proven technical expertise in Early Childhood Development.
  • Demonstrated technical competencies in program design, including M&E frameworks, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children experiencing deprivation, exclusion and vulnerability and their families.
  • Proven ability in participatory training and capacity building for program design, delivery, and assessment.
  • Experience with donor agencies, including USG, and grant making processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with proposal development, including the technical strategy design and narrative writing.
  • Proven ability to provide face to face, and virtual high-quality technical assistance, guidance and coaching to implementing staff and partners.
  • Demonstrated representation and networking experience with multilateral agencies, foundations, and other institutions focused on youth programming.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, team player, self-starter and results-oriented individual.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills, with familiarity in using Microsoft Office suite applications (particularly Word and PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in English
  • Ability to travel internationally.



Preferred:

  • Proficiency in one of the following languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese
  • Knowledge of operational research and program evaluation methodologies, including quantitative and qualitative methods.


EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in specific discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience. Master’s degree preferred.
