Job Description:

Remote - 10% travel

Job Summary:

The Quality Improvement Program Manager is responsible for supporting the development, coordination, and implementation of projects focusing on improving the patient safety, quality, patient satisfaction and efficiency of existing organizational processes. This role will work within the Executive Quality and Clinical Operations Team and partner with enterprise and hospital executive leaders and subject matter experts/leaders on a strategic and tactical level to scope, plan and implement the identified programs and initiatives. Responsible for developing short- and long-term goals to meet intended improvement results for the organization and incorporate OE/Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies.


Job Responsibilities

40% | Project Management: Collaborate with and support enterprise and site executives and subject matter expert leaders to manage and implement program improvement initiatives as identified through established patient safety and quality improvement methodologies. Develop timelines and work plans to define accountabilities and assist with coordination, scheduling, and facilitation of project improvement meetings. Plan, schedule and track project tasks, timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Monitor for potential barriers to achieving tasks and milestones and proactively escalate, as appropriate. Monitor and track performance based on established KPI/KAIs and provide updates to executive leadership per established frequency.


30% | Analytics and Process Engineering: Perform/coordinate analytic analyses, prepare and present data reports, create flow charts, value stream maps, other visual management tools, standard work, as required; assist in validation of data collection processes and tools to ensure program effectiveness; provide insights and support translation of data results into meaningful and actionable program information; assist in establishment of measurable metrics through KPI/KAI development. Complete other research, root cause analysis, as requested.


20% | Site Advisory/Liaison for Programs - Responsible for forming and maintaining collaborative partnerships across CTCA as essential to individual and collective improvement. Provide support and act as liaison to all site teams through project management and identify potential opportunities/connect-the-dots for sharing best practices and solutions across sites for process improvement and standardization to best practice, where identified; support system-wide consensus driven standardization around reporting, problem solving and execution of plans. Facilitate/moderate cross-site discussions and problem solving/brainstorming when valuable. Assist with aligning teams to enterprise resource needs.

10% | Operational Excellence Mindset - Foster/promote operational excellence mindset (real time problem discovery/response; speed to design/implementation; support additional initiatives and duties as requested

Skills, Education and Additional Information

  • Minimum BS/BA required. (Preferably in a clinical discipline, system performance engineering, industrial engineering, public health, or healthcare administration).
  • 3-5 years of process improvement experience. Process improvement experience in a hospital or health system setting preferred.
  • Experience in implementing the Toyota Production System (or similar Operational Excellence Systems/Models) in a healthcare environment. Specific experience in deploying systems for daily management a significant plus
  • LSS Green Belt highly preferred, LSS Black Belt preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering successful high impact process improvement projects
