Required/Essential Qualifications:
1. A minimum of a Master’s degree in Law or a Juris Doctorate (JD).
2. Work experience that demonstrates active involvement in the area of Business Law. A JD degree also fulfills this requirement.
3. Meet conditions for one of the four 2020 AACSB faculty qualifications [Scholarly Academic (SA), Practice Academic (PA), Scholarly Practitioner (SP), or Instructional Practitioner (IP)] as defined by LSBE (see https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GbNhdtIcaSZdmaeTlW8DnjcnnFJ7Hlu9/view). Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience teaching Business Law courses as the primary instructor at the undergraduate level.
2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of constituents.
3. Experience in training or public speaking within an organized setting.

A non-tenure track, adjunct faculty position in the Department of Accounting and Finance at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level to teach an undergraduate introductory course on Business Law. This course is a required class for all business and accounting majors in LSBE. The course is taught in-person on campus, and is currently scheduled to be offered in a once-a-week, evening format (Tuesday, 6:00 to 8:40 PM).

The candidate hired to teach this course will have responsibilities for managing all aspects of teaching the course, including course development, course delivery, grading, and communicating with students. The department will provide guidance on course content and syllabus. The candidate is also expected to hold office hours (in-person or virtual) to ensure access to students outside of class hours. All classes in LSBE must adhere to university’s guidelines pertaining to COVID protocols.

The Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE) at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) invites applications for a part-time, non-tenure track, adjunct faculty position to teach an undergraduate introductory course on Business Law for Fall 2022.

JOB TITLE: Assistant Professor if the candidate has a Ph.D/J.D.; Instructor otherwise.

APPOINTMENT START DATE: Fall semester appointment begins August 22, 2022; classes begin August 29, 2022.

Approximately 1,800 undergraduate and graduate students are currently enrolled in the school’s programs. Both the undergraduate and graduate programs are AACSB-International accredited. The school is housed in a state-of-the-art building. LSBE has about 50 full-time faculty members in four academic departments: Accounting and Finance, Economics and Health Care Management, Management Studies, and Marketing. The School offers the Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration and MBA degrees. Regional outreach is accomplished primarily through activities of the Bureau of Business and Economics Research.
