Public Safety Officer

Job Location : Nashville Campus

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Our Public Safety Officers work under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor of Facilities and are responsible for
the enforcement of traffic and criminal laws, parking regulations, making student identification cards, and other
duties regarding campus safety and patronage assistance.
*This position is governed by law enforcement standards and agency/institution policy.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to be certified within 9-months of employment as a Law Enforcement Officer by the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training in accordance with ACA 12-9-101 through 12-9-109.
• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 21 years of age
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Free of felony convictions
• Free of domestic violence convictions
• Be of good moral character
• Knowledge of public safety policies, methods, and techniques
• Ability to conduct and direct fire and safety inspections
• Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing
• Must be able to build and maintain a rapport with students, faculty and staff and interact with them daily

ANNUAL SALARY

$34,350 annually, combined with an excellent benefits package consisting of health, dental, life, long and shortterm disability insurances, a retirement plan with employer matching contributions, paid sick leave, and educational
assistance.
