Program Coordinator, MIT Online Science, Technology and Engineering Community (MOSTEC)

Job Description

PROGRAM COORDINATOR, Office of Engineering Outreach Programs (OEOP)-MIT Online Science, Technology and Engineering Community (MOSTEC), to join MOSTEC, a rigorous, six-month enrichment program (held primarily online with a five-day, on-campus conference component) exposing rising high school seniors to science and engineering fields.  Will ensure efficient program operations and continue MOSTEC’s history of success while supporting program expansion, evaluation, and innovation as part of a collaborative implementation team.  Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring project plans for logistics, program events, meetings, and orientations (virtual, hybrid, and in-person); contributing to student and staff recruitment, application, and selection; communicating with current and prospective participants and affiliated stakeholders; coordinating student/staff onboarding; coordinating vendors and purchasing materials/supplies; handling unexpected needs/issues that arise and guiding the work of others on routine activities; and contributing to and attending OEOP programs and events, residing on MIT’s campus during residential components of the program (~5-10 days).  

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ administrative and/or project/program management experience.  PREFERRED:  meticulous attention to detail; strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, leadership, facilitation, interpersonal, presentation, and oral and written communication skills; ability to collaborate in a team with diverse backgrounds and skillsets; flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment; ability to multitask and manage time and deadlines; good judgment with confidential information and in unexpected situations; support for MIT’s commitment to diversity and serving diverse constituents; experience with high school students and families; Spanish language skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel) and cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox); working knowledge of social media (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) and email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mail Chimp); and MIT experience.  Job #21199-6

Salary range:  $60,000-65,000

Must be able to work a varied hybrid schedule (in office two days, remote three days) with some evening and weekend hours and to live on-campus during program conferences.

This is a grant-funded position with a one-year appointment that may be eligible for renewal contingent upon available funding.
