A Housing is a Human Right (HHR) Policy Advocate and Organizer contributes to AHF's mission by working and engaging locally, statewide and nationally in a full range of housing, tenant and homeless issues. In this role you will use your passion and experience by working and getting involved in HR’s housing justice project, fighting to protect, expand and implement rights for low-income tenants and unhoused communities.

An HHR Policy Advocate and Organizer has a major contribution to planning and implementing grassroots and policy advocacy campaigns to create change at the local, state and national levels and cultivate strategic partnerships with organizational allies and relationships with lawmakers to advance policy objectives. This role will give you an opportunity to use your knowledge of programs and tools to implement texting and canvassing campaigns.

In this role you will get involved in organizing and attending lobby-ing visits with state and local officials. This role will give you an opportunity to provide testimony to administrative agencies and governing bodies, as well as provide trainings for community members and coalition partners on how to conduct policy advocacy with decision makers to develop strategy. You will use new media strategies to activate advocates and community partners in campaigns around policy priorities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
