Esports Head Coach, part-time

MONTHS PER YEAR: 12

CREDENTIALS:
• Coaching or teaching experience, at least one year competitive eSports
• Experience involving multiplayer online video games with team-based elements and expert
knowledge of League of Legends, Overwatch, or similar games
• Ability to demonstrate a vision for a collegiate eSports program at FSCC
• Experience coaching or playing in collegiate eSports program preferred
• Experience in recruiting preferred
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, students, and general public
• Valid driver’s license
JOB PURPOSE:
The position is responsible for recruiting and coaching esports student-athletes. The coach will work significantly with the student-athletes and athletic director. Also works with other head coaches, admissions and financial aid staff and other campus employees.
MAY BE REQUIRED TO: sit/stand for long periods of time, operate or demonstrate instructional equipment and technologies, speak and hear clearly, transport equipment to various sites, drive to various sites, lift heavy objects to approximately 50 pounds.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Recruiting and retaining students for the esports program
• Conducting coaching and instruction activities during training, practice and competition
• Coordinating off-season, practice and competition schedules
• Assisting with team travel when necessary
• Running camps, clinics, and promotional events
• Pursuing sponsorship opportunities within the esports business world
• Ensuring team compliance with all league, conference, and institutional rules and regulations
• Continuously ensuring personal behavior and program reputation are in alignment with the institution values and mission
• Other duties as assigned by the athletic director
