New Mexico State University Alamogordo is seeking a full time Assistant Professor of Biological or Life Sciences

Position Summary:

New Mexico State University Alamogordo is seeking an Instructor to Professor, of Information Technology for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position. The instructor will provide 30 credit hours of instruction per academic year in Information and Electronics Technology, Cybersecurity and related fields. Other job duties include:

• Work closely with local industry for curriculum assessment and student employment.

• Chair the Information Technology Advisory Board.

• Participate in degree marketing and associated student recruitment and retention activities.

• Develop teaching materials, such as PowerPoint lectures and student labs

• Advise students about the IT program and its courses.

• Teach weekends, evenings, online and hybrid classes, and off-campus within service area.

• Participate in professional development activities.

• Participate in committee assignments and other institutional service.

• Participate in community and society service.

• Conduct on-going student learning assessment at the course and program level.

• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Knowledge:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Information and Communication Technology, or other discipline with an emphasis on networking.

• One or more relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CIT/Cyber, CompTIA Security+, Certified IT Security Professional, or other related certification.

• Two-years full-time or equivalent part-time teaching experience in information technology or related field courses.

• Ability to teach program courses, such as Network Communications, Network Operating Systems, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Software Maintenance, and Information Security, as well as develop and teach new program courses.

• Experience developing and teaching face-to-face and online curriculum to include hands­ on or electronic-based laboratory procedures for the reinforcement of course material.

* Experience using information technology related hardware and software
