Class Description

The Director of Academic and Career Advisement provides leadership, supervision, and support to Advising and Career Services staff, as well as, for college initiatives and policies that contribute to student retention, persistence, transition and college completion.

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.  

Minimum Requirements

Master’s degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, Administration or related field.  Five (5) years experience supervising/administering a comprehensive student support services program at the college level required. Knowledge of student information databases required.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Develop and manage operating budget for assigned unit college-wide.
  2. Hire, supervise and evaluate assigned staff.
  3. Establish goals and objectives for operations consistent with the mission of CCBC.
