Central Virginia Community College (CVCC) is a comprehensive two-year college that serves a population of approximately 250,000 within Lynchburg City and the surrounding communities of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell County Virginia.


Established in 1966, CVCC is a part of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) of 23 community colleges located across the Commonwealth.

CVCC seeks a mission-driven, dynamic professional to serve in the role of Public Relations and Marketing Manager II and invites qualified candidates who have a passion to support student success and credential completion to apply.

This full time, Classified position reports directly to the President and administers all programs and activities undertaken by the college to secure the resources needed to achieve its mission and goals, specifically such programs as private sector fundraising, development, grants, public information, public relations, publications, media relations, governmental/legislative relations, marketing, special events, internal and external communication, and alumni affairs.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, or a related area. Experience determining resource needs for the institution and implementing plans to secure resources for needs not satisfied by state and local funding. Experience directing, planning, and executing capital campaigns. Experience directing public information office activities.

Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to those candidates who possess administrative, financial, and business management experience in higher education.

Knowledge and/or experience in a Community College environment; familiarity with state and local government is preferred.

Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE)

Special Requirements
The incumbent in this position is subject to the Commonwealth of Virginia Statement of Economic Interest reporting requirements as a condition of employment and then annually thereafter.

Successful completion of all reference, comprehensive criminal and credit, background, and e-Verify checks is required as a condition of employment.
