We are the Division of IT Services of the Institute of Computer Science MUNI. We provide IT facilities for a top 21st century university. We create a university IT community that works with staff and students not only in the areas of research and teaching. Together, we build an IT environment that helps the university workers have a significant positive impact on the world.

We are looking for someone to lead the change towards service-oriented IT throughout one of the most prestigious universities in central Europe. Participate in the creation of modern IT services for all the user groups within the Masaryk University. Join us as the IT Service manager.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Ensure full utilization of ITSM tool features to support ITSM role to the company
  • Maintain IT Service catalogue (service definition, description, and other service relevant information)
  • Budget and financial planning for the portfolio of IT services.
  • Evaluate service quality. Set SLA/KPI and trends based on operational reports
  • Monitor, control, and support Service Delivery; ensure systems, methodologies and procedures are set and followed
  • Direct relevant projects and service improvements
  • Lead regular operational activities based on policies and procedures (Backup Recovery and Disaster Recovery, patching, auditing…)
  • Coordinate change management activities
  • Act as an escalation point for service-related issues

We expect you to have:

  • Strong experience in IT service management
  • The ability to cooperate with technical specialists and challenge them using your prior experience and understanding of relevant technologies
  • Core areas and technologies involved in our services are network, storage, Microsoft products (O365, Active Directory, Azure…), virtualization (WMWare), databases (MS SQL), security.
  • Hands-on experience with such systems is not necessary but it is essential you understand them and are able to learn more about them.
  • Knowledge of vendor management, service catalogues & SLAs
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Self-driven to achieve goals independently as well as work in team

It helps if you also have:

  • ITIL v3/v4 Foundation’s training or higher level of ITIL Certifications would be an advantage
  • ISO20000 and TOGAF knowledge would be an advantage
  • Open mind to innovations and practices of the IT market
  • 5+ years of experience in managing IT Operations or related fields
